First of all, the reason I choose this exed was that we need to do Personal Sustainability exed for 3 Semester. At first, I want to join Basketball because I used to be a basketball player back home but due to my injuries, I can't play it anymore. So Instead of doing Basketball, I was thinking taking this exed. Also, I'm friends with the second-year leader. His name is Henry and he's from Taiwan.
I like watching Badminton. Back in Indonesia, it was such a big deal because we have a really good player in the Badminton World Federation (BWF) world tour. So I kind of know what to do, the rules, and basic strategies for badminton. But in this exed, there's a lot of people who can actually play this way better than me. So again it makes me surprised in a good way and I'm trying to learn through them. Also, I'm not as fit as I used to and I can't move fast cause I'm scared I will make my knees injury worse. This is when -again I felt so frustrated cause I always want to do a good job in everything that I'm doing at the moment but there's always an aspect that prevents me and not letting me do what I want to do. I felt this is a challenge that I need to defeat in order to gain more confidence in all the aspects that I want to do.
The first month went pretty good. It was fun as we can play with our peers. the next months are also going well. But during that time, there's one time I accidentally injured my knees again when I was trying doing hip hop dance. I know I shouldn't do it but again the atmosphere is so good and I'm getting too into dance so yeah it happens. And the next day I went to Fenicia -the nurse in school and I told her what's happens and she looked so mad. I felt so bad when I talked to her cause she looks so disappointed in me. Because once I went to her to ask her if she can do anything about my knees to make it better so I can do sport again, but she said it's hard to do so and just told me to avoid any extreme activities which involve many knee joints. After I explained to her, things getting worse. She wrote in a paper that said I can't do badminton for a short time until my knees get better.
Honestly, I felt sad but happy at the same time. It was when there's a lot of exams and assignment deadline so I got more time to do works instead of going to badminton exed. But at the same time, I miss playing badminton and it actually made me more lazy to move my body so it's kind of a problem for a while. It went for like around a month, and after that Fenicia allows me to do badminton again. And yeah the rest of the semester went smooth. Even though lots of people started to not come and skip the exed, but it was fine for me.
I think for next semester I won't be in this exed and trying to find new things that I haven't learned before. I might join yoga or meditation or even physical fitness because I have a resolution next year which I'm planning to lost weight before going back home in summer. So yeah, we'll see how it goes and I'll always keep you guys updated. Adios ~
