Making youtube videos has been one of my hobbies for these past months since I came to uwc. Produce a video by yourself full of creativity, imagination, and ideas looked really cool. And also you could be the producer, director, storyboard artist, cameramen, editor, and the other impressive jobs all by yourself. I always admire people that are working in making a video for youtube. Especially all the content creators on youtube whether about Fashion, Makeup, Lifestyle, Vlog, Education, Funny video, and all other themes. That's actually one of my dream jobs. because now you can call youtube as a substitute platform for TV. You can watch a reality show from youtube, entertaining video, drama, short movies, and even news. and also it gives a stronger impact for an individual through the content they're watching.
That's what I'm planning to do. I'm want to make more positive content that is useful for others. It also gives a stronger impact for them with all the possible things I could do inside my capacity as a UWC-USA student. So it started this early November when I 've always wanted to make a video that brings up about social issues and raise awareness to others. But I can't find like a good topic to start with until Anne Marie upload a music video about one of her song called 'perfect to me'. I'm in love with the whole music video, lyrics, and ofc her voice! and it just popped in my head that I really want to make my first ever project about these issues!
Then I was thinking this might be really lit if I commit and actually willing to spend some time doing this project. It might be kinda hard because I will need others' help and that will challenge myself to be able to communicate more and better in English, but I believe this is one of the things that I'm going to overcome anyway. So I started by making a story-board in my notes about how this video is gonna be and what kind of question I wanna ask and just how I'll produce this video in general. Then after that, I post all the information on the facebook campus page that I need some help for my next video that brings up about these issues. and surprisingly there's a lot of people who want to contribute to this video! I did not expect that but yeah it's really happening!
After that, I made polling which everyone vote on when they think they'd able to do the shoot or interview then I organize it and shared a schedule about it. and the next week became a week of shoot the whole footage that I need with the people that are participating in this project. the last day was actually before thanksgiving break, so I have full 5 days to edit it. and it was going so smooth all these processes although actually I got a little bit problem with editing to cause the footage sometimes a little bit shaky or the sound in the interview is not loud enough and also I learn some new style of editing!
So the thing is this is my first ever project and I want it to be special. I want to add a special effect that I've never tried before. then I found this glitching VHS that looks really cool and I searched it up how to use and actually make it perfect in a video and it works! I really like how it turned out in the video. also last but not least I appreciated all the UWC-USA students that are willing to participate in this project and share the video with them as well. and guess what? it gets almost 700 views in a month haha I'm so happy. And I still have tons of ideas to make another more meaningful project with more people! stay tuned in my channel!
