As I said last semester, I won’t be in Badminton anymore instead I will be in Physical Fitness. The reason why I choose this ExEd is that I knew that my schedule will be a bit tight this semester and it will be nice if I have an ExEd with a flexible hour but still filling my requirements for ExEd. So, I decided to take Physical Fitness. I usually went to the gym three to four times a month, sometimes early in the morning or late at night after check. So far this exed has been very convenient for me because I can do it whenever I got the time or whenever I want to. We just need to sign a paper to show that we are here to workout.
There are two challenges that I face during this semester. First is commitment. It is so hard to keep going to the gym while you have literally a bunch of other work to do and stuff to think about. It’s hard especially in exams week or in a week where I have a unit test or quiz. It’s hard to keep on track of my fitness program and just going to the gym every week. The other challenge is that when I got injured (again) in my knees. I got to stop going to the gym because Fenicia told me not to. You know when you stop doing something your routine, and then you need to build up that routine again? It’s hard isn’t it? And once I got the chance to going there routinely, I can’t workout with a hard program. I need to take it easy with my workout program because I can’t lift the weight. I can still do it for arm and belly but not for legs.
When I reflect on this I realize how I can overcome this hardship. Peer support helps a lot. Literally A LOT. When we’re talking about commitment especially in working out, it’s hard to do it yourself. But when you have a gym buddy that you can rely on, that makes your job 100% easier. You can remind each other to workout, you can keep in track with your program and just helping out each other during the process of workout. It’s so helpful yet very fun to do. Going to the gym, take some cute pictures, and do the hard work together is super enjoyable and amusing to observe. Thanks to Game, my gym buddy I got to overcome my first challenges!
For the second challenge, it takes more time. I need to adjust my body and my time due to the changes I faced. I need to re-schedule my plan for the weeks and need to spend more time thinking about my workout plan. I try to maximize the time I have where I can’t go to the gym by doing school works. Once Fenicia allowed me to go to the gym, I start to build my workout plan from scratch. It takes patience and time. It’s not that hard for me as long as I put it in my journal. To be honest, it was a bit fun to keep track of your workout because you can see the progress on how much you’ve grown. I might take this ExEd again on my second year but who knows. Anyway, That’s all for this ExEd, I’ll see you in the next post! Adios~
