CLAD-January 27th

MIND-March 30th

This semester things started to get busier and even complex. Academic, social life, and just my schedule in short. After winter break, I felt my communication and speaking skills improved a lot. Thanks to my sister, Anika. I got a chance to speak more during winter break and that helps me a lot to boost my confidence in speaking English. I said this because, in my previous semester, I got stuck and had a problem with this ExEd because of my communicating skills with people. But now I felt I got better and better.

CLAD is just around the corner! As I said in last semester, Sanam will be part of Tech member starting this semester. Before the rehearsal starts we will have a meeting to decide who will be the leader of this show. Apparently Sanam and Isaura will be the leader for this show. I’m a bit disappointed at first. Well, the reason is obvious because I join Tech Stage first before she and I have more experience on how to lead a show and I don’t want to work in a green room for all the show. Well, I sound very selfish and childish and I am well aware of that. I must say, working in a show where you don’t feel comfortable and there are challenges like this doesn’t feel good at all.

But as time passed and we had done rehearsal and the actual show, I realized. I realized that this is not about who gets the position to be the leader for the show. This is about your personal growth, about how much you’ve grown over time and how brave you are to overcome the challenges you’ve faced. I think I am not qualified enough back then to lead a show. I still lack in many ways especially my communication skills even though I said I’ve improved during winter break. I believe my leader know what the best for this exed without discriminating their member. And I trust their judgment toward whoever feels right to lead the show. They must have thought that I am not ready yet to lead this show, and I believe I will lead the next show which is MIND. It’s harder than you thought to accept your weakness, but I think I’ve done pretty well in holding on and believe the process rather than try to get the ‘title’.

My guess was right. I was chosen to be a leader for MIND. If in CLAD my challenge is that my personal feelings towards the whole show, for this one my challenge is that I had the responsibility to run this show smoothly with no mistakes to prove to everyone and myself that I can lead a show. That I am capable of doing this which I did. I and another firstie that just joined the exed a couple of weeks ago lead this show. In the end, it all runs perfectly and this also our last show of this year so we got a little bit celebration in the green room with me and my partner rapping about Tech Stage. It was a memorable moment. Click here if you want to know the full story. I will be staying in this exed for next year so I will have more reflection on how much I’ve grown over two years. I will update it very very soon! Adios~
